Language control
The State Language Centre implements the national policy in regard to supervision and control of the conformity with laws and regulations in the field of the official language use.
Translations
The State Language Centre provides the translations of the laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia and international law.
Publications
Publications of the State Language Centre and the former Translation and Terminology Centre.
Commissions
Studies carried out or commissioned by the authority on the issues topical for the industry or area of activity.
Latvian Language Expert Commission
The Latvian Language Expert Commission examines the compliance of norms provided for in laws and regulations to the rules of the Latvian language, codifies norms of the literary language, and provides opinions on various language issues.
Sub-commission of Place Names
The Sub-commission of Place Names provides opinions on the use of place names in cartographical publications and official texts, as well as on the preservation, restoration, and allocation of place-names.
Sub-commission on the Latgalian Written Language
The Sub-commission on the Latgalian Written Language promotes the regulation of the cultural environment of the language, particularly, through ensuring the development, and implementation of unified orthography of the Latgalian written language.
